Choosing the Right Crown Profile for Your Logo

Choosing the Right Crown Profile for Your Logo

Before color, before brim shape, the crown profile decides how much room your logo has to breathe, and how the cap sits on a head. Here's how to choose without guessing.

Low profile hugs the head and sits closer to the brow. It reads clean and modern, but the front panel is short, so it favors compact, horizontal logos. Wordmarks and small icons shine here. Tall stacked logos get cramped.

Mid profile is the safe default for a reason. There's enough front-panel real estate for most logos, structured or relaxed, and it flatters the widest range of head shapes. If you're ordering one profile for a whole team, this is usually it.

High or structured profile stands tall and holds its shape off the head. This is the canvas for bold, vertical, or 3D-puff logos. It photographs big and reads from across a room, ideal for brands that want presence.

A few rules we give every client:
Measure your logo's aspect ratio first, then pick the profile, not the other way around.
Structured crowns hold embroidery flatter. Unstructured crowns feel premium but need lighter designs.
Ordering for resale? Mid profile moves fastest across audiences. Ordering for a statement drop? Go high.

Every Lackpard blank we stock lists its profile so you're never guessing. Still unsure? Send us the logo and we'll tell you which crown makes it hit.
